One of SharePoint's strengths is its ability to serve as a portal and bring together a wide variety of information in a user-friendly and easy to customize interface. In MOSS 2007, Microsoft provides the Business Data Catalog to help with integrating with non-SharePoint applications. SharePoint Designer kicks in by providing the Data View Web Part. However, neither of these solutions are particularly good or easy at pulling in data from modern SaaS-based applications like Salesforce.com that are not part of the Microsoft stack.
That's why we have developed this extension to our free SharePoint Data Zoom Web Part. Armed with the SharePoint Data Zoom Web Part and this extension for Salesforce.com Sales objects, organizations will be able to:
- Pull into SharePoint all Salesforce.com data from the following Sales Objects:
- Leads
- Opportunities
- Contacts
- Accounts
- Users
- Design sophisticated reporting and inquiry solutions that will increase CRM data visibility to those who can access your portals, but don't have (or need) a Salesforce.com account
- Do all of the development in a common script-like language that web developers and power users will find easy to learn
What kind of Salesforce Sales reports can you surface in your SharePoint portals and sites? Really, the answer is that the sky is the limit, but here are a few examples to get you thinking:
- Lead activity reporting
- Salesperson activity reporting
- Opportunity Pipeline reporting
- Won / Lost Sales reporting
- As many custom reports as you need as long as the data is contained in the standard group of Salesforce.com Sales objects
The software ships with pre-built scripts for producing a Lead Activity report, an Opportunity Pipeline report, and a Won/Lost/Closed report. However, if you have custom reports in mind, but don't have the resources available to develop the scripts, contact our Consulting Division and we will be happy to give you a quote for doing the work for you!
