| Are the course and course materials the same for the Online Live classes as the live attendance classes? |
No. The Online Live classes are scaled down versions of our live attendance classes which give you the essentials of the subject, in a very digestible form, so you can put your new SharePoint skills right to work. For a more in-depth consideration of the material, we recommend the corresponding live attendance SharePoint Solutions class. |
| How does the Online Live training work? |
Using an “online meeting” web app, you’ll be a part of an online training class which will run 3 hours per day each morning, Monday through Friday. You’ll hear the voice of the instructor in crystal clear audio, and see his computer desktop displayed on your system – even see the instructor himself! You’ll see all the instructor’s demos and PowerPoint slides – just as you would in the classroom. You’ll get to ask questions, and you’ll have your own copy of the class manual so you can follow along and then do all the class labs in the afternoon. For the labs, you’ll have your own MOSS 2007 portal to work with (and the necessary MS Office apps), and the instructor will be available to assist. |
| Can I ask questions in real time and interact with the class? |
Yes. You can virtually “raise your hand” and ask questions whenever you feel the need. |
| What is required in order to take the Live Online classes? |
To take our Online Live training classes, two things are required:
- You must fulfill the prerequisites for the class. You must have the necessary experience and/or skills, if any are listed.
- You need a Windows computer (running either Windows 7, Windows Vista Service Pack 1, or Windows XP Service Pack 3) with a high-speed Internet connection, and a headset with headphones and microphone (computer speakers and built-in mcrophones generate feedback noise, so they are not acceptable). Your computer must be able to connect to our server via Windows Remote Desktop Connection and must allow the small client program of the web app to install. | Where do you recommend that I be when I take the Live Online training class? |
We strongly urge you to be well out of the normal flow of business. Because we cannot control the “classroom environment” where everybody is, we suggest a location free from distractions and interruptions. Our classes require a high level of concentration. To get the most out of the class, you will want to be able to give it your full attention. |
| Am I watching a live instructor teach the course, or a recording? |
Every SharePoint Solutions class, whether in the classroom or Online Live, is taught by a live instructor – a SharePoint expert who is also a real-world consultant. |
| Do I get a class manual, like those in a live class would? |
Yes. We will ship you a class manual upon receipt of your payment for the class. Your manual will contain the PowerPoint slides, a distillation of the lecture content of the class, and the click-by-click hands-on labs which allow you to actually experience everything the instructor is teaching you about. |
| Can my co-workers watch as I attend the class? |
No. Unless the entire group is registered to attend, no one but you is allowed to take the training. |
| What forms of payment do you accept for your classes? |
We accept credit card, company check, and purchase order for payment. |
| Does SharePoint Solutions accept Microsoft Software Assurance Training Vouchers in payment for classes? |
No we don’t. Microsoft will only allow companies who teach Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) to accept their vouchers. We do not teach any MOC courses. | What are the times of the online classes? |
The classes run Monday - Friday. The instructor will conduct lectures and demos each morning from 10 a.m. Eastern (7 a.m. Pacific) until 1 p.m. Eastern (10 a.m. Pacific). Then, the students will be free to complete their lab assignments anytime between 2:30 p.m. Eastern (11:30 a.m. Pacific) and 5:00 p.m. Eastern (2 p.m. Pacific). The instructor will be available for questions and help during the lab time in the afternoon. |
| Are there discounts available for the Online Live training? |
For our shorter "Fast Track" classes, no discounts are available. For online classes that run 3 days or longer, we offer a $200 per person discount to the following:
- Government Discount - Employees of government entities at the federal, state and local level. To receive the discount, please use the promo code GOVT during registration.
- Academic Discount - Employees of universities, colleges, secondary schools, primary schools and school districts. To receive the discount, please use the promo code ACAD during registration.
- Non-Profit Discount - Employees of non-profit organizations. To receive the discount, please use the promo code NONP during registration.
We offer a $100 per person discount (on classes that run at least three days) to the following:
- Group Discount - Employees of for-profit organizations that send two (2) or more students to a class. To receive the discount, please use the promo code GROUP during registration.
- Returning Student Discount - Any student who has previously taken a class from us. To receive the discount, please use the promo code RETSTUD during registration.
All discounts are mutually exclusive and may not be combined with any other discount or offer.

| What if I have audio or video difficulties I can’t resolve? |
SharePoint Solutions does not expect you to pay for training you are not able to receive. If we can’t resolve your difficulties to your satisfaction, so that you get a quality training experience, simply return the class manual to us and we will refund your money. |
| What is your cancellation policy? |
A registrant may reschedule an Online Live training class once without financial penalty.
Any registrant canceling registration within 15 days of the start of the class will be charged a $300 ($200 for "Fast Track" classes) cancellation fee. Any registrant canceling registration up to 15 days before the start of the class will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. Any registrant who has already received his/her class manual must return it before a refund can be processed. Refunds, less cancellation fees, will be sent no later than 30 days after the scheduled class start date, or after the manual has been returned.
