    Ah, I missed the part where they are on 2013. Yes, Group Scheduling is gone, and I never knew anyone who was happy with it anyway. I was even hesitant to mention it, but in the interest of full disclosure …

    Thanks for the detailed reply! I set up a Gantt view (your option #3), and the resources are much more manageable.
    I’m using a home-grown solution with a metadata field lookup to a resource type, as the client is using SharePoint 2013, and Microsoft has decided to remove group scheduling (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607742.aspx).

    I think a lot depends on whether or not it’s important to see EVERYTHING all together on one calendar, and whether or not a calendar grid is important.     I’ve tried setting up each room with a separate calendar and using overlays, and also setting up a resource list with each room there and then using a lookup column in a calendar to select a room. Both ways work OK, only with a total of over 100 resources (rooms, meeting rooms, AV equipment, etc.), [...]
