I am hoping someone can help – this issue seems so simple, I must be missing something basic.
Problem: Have an InfoPath 2010 form with person/group picker fields. On submit, the form gets written into a SharePoint 2007 Form Library. The basis of the form is an employee making a request. The manager the employee is requesting (to take an action) is selected on the form (via person/group picker). In a perfect world, i'd like to notify/email the supervisor when the employee has made the request. Can't use the SharePoint approval workflow because the approver is selected at the time the form is saved. I have tried to use SharePoint Designer 2007 and create a custom workflow to assign a task or send an email but they don't work.
Any advice or assistance is greatly appreciated!
