  Sharepoint 2007 – Metadata won't stick for a an xlsm document (2 posts)

  No matter how many times we change the metadata, it goes back to the default. I tried uploading a regular xls file and it worked just fine. Is it because this is a macro file?

  Never heard this one before, Amy. I just did a search for issues others may have had for this and I came up with nothing.

  If you are using hosted SharePoint, it could be some setting that has been made by the SharePoint Server Farm administrators. In general, server farm administrators get nervous about any file type that includes macros, javascript, code, etc. being uploaded to a SharePoint document library. The fear is that something malicious will be introduced into the SharePoint environment.

  I noticed that you asked about performance issues with SharePoint in the Cloud on a previous post in this forum. So, if you are using hosted SharePoint, I would recommend opening up a ticket with the support team.
