To populate the dialog when it is first loaded you need to set the ‘DataTable : Results’ property in the ‘CityPickerDialog.OnLoad’ method with the desired data. The code will be very similar to the ‘CityQueryControl.IssueQuery’ method, as shown above, without the search filter.

Each time a user opens the dialog box and enters new search criteria the IssueQuery method of the CityQueryControl class is called. I don’t believe the SharePoint dialog picker provides support for pagination. The idea is to provide additional search criteria to narrow your search results to help locate the target item. This solution was built using Visual Studio 2010 beta 1. When SharePoint 2010 beta 2 is released we’ll try and update the project to the operate with the latest release of Visual Studio and SharePoint.
